
What should I expect when I or my child takes lessons?
1. What is the minimum age for students enrolled at SJG School of Music?
SJG School of Music teaches students from ages 6 years through adult age students.
2. Do you sell or rent instruments?
No, however please ask our teachers for a recommended retailer.
3. When will I/my student be able to play a song proficiently?
Each student develops at a different rate of proficiency. Improvement in playing is dependent upon one’s natural musical ability, disciplined practice, and passion to learn. Yet, if one is committed to learn and practices regularly, you should see a noticeable improvement over time.
4. How much do lessons cost?
Lessons cost $150 for four(4) half-hour instrumental lessons. Voice and Cello lessons cost $160 for four(4) half-hour lessons.
5. What is your policy on missed lessons?
Cancellations with a 24 hour notice will receive a make-up lesson time. There will be no more than one credit given per month. Same day cancellations receive no credit or make-up lesson.
6. Do you offer recitals?
We offer 2 recitals per year and also offer various performance opportunities at festivals, bookstores and community events. Read more about SJG’s music recitals.
7. What kinds of music styles do you teach?
SJG Music School specializes in Classical, Jazz, Rock, Country and Blues musical styles.
8. Can we meet the teacher before we enroll?
Yes. We offer a free consultation lesson with the teacher with no obligation to enroll.
